Sonia Nijjar joined Neinstein Personal Injury Lawyers LLP as a summer student in 2013, completed her articles, and is now a lawyer at the firm.
Sonia graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta before pursing a Juris Doctorate at Osgoode Hall Law School. During law school, Sonia was a Senior Editor at the Osgoode Hall Law Journal, research assistant and legal intern for various social justice projects, and caseworker at Parkdale Community Legal Services.
Sonia acts on behalf of plaintiffs in cases involving all areas of medical negligence. She is actively involved in policy and legislative reform as it relates to medical liability, with a particular interest in improving patient safety and quality of care. Sonia holds a Board position at Reconnect Community Health Services, a not-for-profit health service organization, and sits on the Research and Ethics Board of a community hospital. She is a regular contributor to the OTLA Medical Malpractice Newsletter.
Sonia speaks fluent Punjabi and conversational Hindi.
